Peggy (Reid) Childres

Peggy worked in the office at Southern Desk Furniture Company and Drexel Heritage Furniture in her early career. Then later working in childcare because of her love for children.

Peggy leaves behind a loving family, including her daughter and son-in-law Debbie and Van Seabock, daughter Susan and son-in-law Mark Colbert. Her legacy of love continues through her grandchildren, April Colbert and David Colbert along with wife Hannah. Great grandchildren Grey Colbert, (daughter of April) Eden and Esther Colbert (daughters of David and Hannah)

She was the last surviving child of Horace and Anna Reid. Preceded in death by her husband David.

Visitation will be held at Hickory Funeral Home on Saturday, July 12, 2025 at 1:00 pm with service following at 2:00 pm. Pastor David Colbert will officiate.

Entombment will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers donations may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital or to the Disabled American Veterans.

Peggy was loved dearly by her family and friends, who lived close by and saw her every day. She loved all her family so very much, she will be greatly missed.
