Peter Carmen Pizzichillo

NEWTON – Peter Carmen Pizzichillo, 88 of Newton passed away on July 11, 2025 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born on May 25, 1937 in Orange, NJ to the late Frank Thomas and Mary Lucille Pizzichillo. Peter was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. He retired from BASF Wyandotte Corporation at the age of 55. Peter was an avid hunter, fisherman and musician. He was a collector who collected many eclectic things.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years, Elianore M. Pizzichillo; daughter, Mary Anna Pizzichillo; and sister, Rose Marie Grace Derra.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Ellen Garrison, Francine Mericle and husband Richard, Patricia Merring and husband Mark; grandchildren, April Mericle, Frank Mericle, Thomas Mericle and wife Katherine , Clifford Garrison Jr. III, Jason Garrison, Michael Herendeen, Lacey Herendeen; great-grandchildren, Asia Borden, Adrien Borden, Emilyn Mericle, Elianora Mericle; Kaliya Kristoferson and other family members.

A Gathering of Friends and Family will be held on Wednesday, July 16. 2025 from 7 PM – 9 PM at Catawba Funeral Home.
