Mr. Ralph James Day Jr.

HICKORY—Ralph James Day Jr. 87 passed away Monday, October 3, 2016 at his residences after a period of declining health. Ralph was born December 18, 1928 in Catawba County to the late Ralph James Day Sr. and Bertha Propst Day. Ralph was a lifelong member of Temple Baptist Church. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife Rosantha L. Day; second wife Evelyn “ Becky” Church Day; his brother Harold Day and Son-in-law Randall Brant Deal. He is survived by his daughter Carolyn Deal of Taylorsville, his son Ralph James Day III “Butch” and his wife Marsha of Hickory, a sister Sylvia Honeycutt and husband Earl; 7 grandchildren; Reggie Deal and wife Cindy; Chad Deal and wife Sherry; Jennifer Sutherland and husband Tracy; Lori Badeaux and husband Derrick; Cheryl Trusdale and husband Terry; Leah Roberts; Cale Day, 12 great grandchildren, and a special friend James Hollar. The family will receive friends Wednesday, October 5, 2016 from 5:00pm to 8:00pm at Hickory Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held Thursday, October 6, 2016 at 11:00am at Temple Baptist Church with Reverend Lloyd King and Rev. Danny Deal officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
