Reba Underdown Huffman

Born in Caldwell County on June 19, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Arthur Lee and Bertha Kincaid Underdown.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lee C. Huffman; 7 sisters, 3 brothers, great-grandson Taylor Smith, and grandson-in-law John F. Alphin.

She was a longtime member of Miller’s Lutheran Church. She taught Sunday school, counted Sunday offerings, and organized Friday night dinners for Seniors. Reba volunteered in the Catawba Valley Medical Center Gift Shop for 35 years. She loved her family, traveling, and working in the yard with her flowers. She was the last remaining Underdown sibling and the last of her Huffman generation.

She is survived by her son Lee Clement Huffman Jr. and wife Jacquelyn Culpepper of Cornelius; her daughters Sondra Wolfe and husband Samuel of Conover and Dana Raines and husband Gary of Hickory; grandchildren Kristin Alphin of Hickory, Kristen Marshburn and husband Naaman of Hickory; Shelley Baker and husband Jeremy of Conover, Leslee Smith and husband Banister of Bethlehem, Lance Raines of Hickory, Jessica Causey and husband Michael of Lincolnton, Callie Williams and husband Eric of Spring Hill, TN; 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter.

The family will receive friends Friday, July 24, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am at Miller’s Lutheran Church. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Reverend Todd Cook officiating. Burial will be at Catawba Memorial Park.
