Rebecca "Becky" (Roberts) Rousseau

Becky was born in Hickory on July 8, 1960; she was the daughter of the late Walter L. Roberts and Frances Gaston Roberts Raney. Becky graduated from Hickory High School and UNC Charlotte with a degree in English and an emphasis in Creative Writing. Becky was a talented singer, song writer and musician, who enjoyed playing the piano and guitar. She wrote dozens of songs with husband Rob and was learning about sound engineering and production. The recording studio was a favorite part of Becky and Rob’s home. In addition, Becky enjoyed writing poetry and short stories. She was employed at Marshall’s, in Charlotte.

She is survived by her loving husband of 15 years, Robert “Rob” Rousseau; her mother Frances Raney; her brothers Michael Lee Roberts and wife Mary Ann of Granite Falls, and Christopher David Roberts (Sara Hobbs) of Walkertown; a niece Elizabeth Roberts Ahwal and husband Jon of Concord and her nephew Alex Roberts and wife Emma of Morganton.

The family will receive friends Saturday August 30th from 12:45 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home, a Memorial service to follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Andrew Rawls officiating.

Private Interment will be at Oakwood Cemetery.
