Richard was a significant part of my small engineering staff at CommScope in the early time of the company’s start as an Independent company. As many have said in this memory book descriptions of his attributes and I agree with them all. He had many qualities both personal and professional. I remember telling Richard many times “Burch you just don’t how good you are “ as he always under estimated what he could accomplish. He was also my friend.

I have had the pleasure of knowing the Burch family for almost 18 years. I have grown real close to Mr. and Mrs. Burch over that time, and I can say that they are two of the nicest and most honest people I have ever known. I used to love the stories Mr. Burch would share with me. I respected him dearly. My wife and I are truly saddened by his passing. Heaven has landed a true gentleman....it's just hard to find great men like him in the world today!

Richard was such a great guy, mentor, and positive role model. Although, he never could teach me to play that "driver" fade, he taught us a lot about integrity, ethics and how to treat suppliers. Work was never the same after he retired. We had some great times with lasting memories. Extending our thoughts and prayers to the family.

To the Burch family, my deepest condolences for your loss. Richard had a way about him that just made me happy whenever I got the chance to chat with him out in front of the barn or even years ago when we would happen to be eating lunch at the same place. My folks live across the street and he and Rochelle always had a kind word to share. When my husband and I were in the process of moving to NC from Fl. my 4yr old son at the time, stayed with my folks. I'll never forget, Richard giving me a bale of hay to decorate out front. He assured me there were no snakes in it (I'm terribly afraid of snakes). It was raining that day, so I put the hay inside the house. Much to my surprise and his laughter, there was a snake in there! I will miss you Richard. May God comfort you all in this very difficult time.

To the Burch Family, I thank God for the opportunity to have known Mr. Burch. My brother Danny and I will always remember the things we talked about with him. It reminded us of what our father was trying to teach us as we were growing up. We were brought up to work hard and help people. We didn't always do it but we do now and Mr. Burch just reminded us that. I believe that he instilled those same values in his family. I am sure because we see it in his daughter, the love and kindness in Mrs. Burch and I believe it is the same with the entire family. I know he will be missed not only in the home but throughout the community, and by everyone that knew him, yet I believe it will live on through all of you. Mother Burch, you will ALWAYS be in our thoughts and prayers.
