

Richard was born July 30, 1928 in Catawba Co. to the late Mack Gordon and Trilby McNeely Hefner. He was preceded in death by a brother and a sister.
He was owner & operator of Unifour Frames, retired from Dimension Wood Works, member of St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod where he was an elder, usher, member of LLL Men’s Club, and donated numerous gallons of blood thru the Red Cross, and a former square dancer with numerous clubs.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Wilma Frye Hefner; daughters, Sharon Jones of Hickory and Cindy Sigmon and husband, Steve, of Claremont; sons, Steve Hefner and wife, Debbie, of Conover, Tim Hefner, and wife, Donna, of Conover and Gary Hefner and wife, Bonnie, of Catawba; 9 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; nephew Jeff Hefner.
Services will be Sunday, April 21, at 3:00 P. M. at St. Stephens Lutheran Church, Mo Synod with Pastors David Guelzow and David Ziehr officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Danny Hefner, Jason Hefner, Eric Sigmon, Cory Jones, Hank Lail, Brandon Eudy, Ryan Elmore and Noah Hefner. Honorary pallbearers will the LLL Men’s Club of the church.The family will receive friends Sunday from 1:30 until 2:45 P. M. at the church.
