Richard Nathaniel Propst

Conover, NC –Richard Nathaniel Propst, 85, of Conover, NC passed away Saturday, July 15, 2017 at his residence. Born on May 16, 1932 in Lincolnton, NC, he was the son of the late Jacob Propst and Viola Detter. He was a member of Abernethy Methodist Church, and after serving in the United States Air Force for 27 years. He retired and started work in the furniture industry. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Bonnie Propst; son, Christopher Propst and a brother, Joe Propst. He is survived by his wife of 4 years, Roseanna Propst; sons, Mark Propst and wife Stacey, Michael Propst, step son, Mark Denton and wife Anita; daughter, Nancy Anderson and husband Donald, step daughter, Deborah Dickey and husband Jason; sister, Ann Johnson; seven grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. A Service will be held at Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Bobby Sherrill officiating on Wednesday, July 19, 2017 at 12:00 pm with burial following the service at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 11:00 – 11:45 am at the Funeral Home.
