He was born in Davidson County on February 19, 1957 to Madeline Townsend and the late Richmond Townsend, Sr. He attended Lexington Senior High School and was a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Jody Creech (Allen); grandson, Rev. Johnathan Everette (Rachel); mother, Madeline T. Stafford (Guy); sisters, Lona T. Hedrick (Steve), Lori Townsend, Wenn Townsend; step-sister, Janet Jordan (Steve); and numerous nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his father, Richmond W. Townsend, Sr.; and brother, Larry D. Townsend.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
