Robert Paul Ritter

ROBERT PAUL RITTER HICKORY- Staff Sgt. Robert Paul Ritter, 84 of Hickory, went home to be with his Lord on Saturday, January 31, 2015 at Abernethy Laurels. Born on March 19, 1930 in New Ringold PA, he was the son of the late Paul and Evelyn Ritter. He was a member of East Hickory Baptist Church. Robert retired from the US Army where he served in Korea three times earning a Silver Star Ribbon, Bronze Star Ribbon, and Purple Heart Cluster. He loved NASCAR racing and reading. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Alan Ritter and step-son, Maurice Graham. Survivors include his loving wife, Jeanna Ritter; son, Bobby Ritter and wife Heather; grandson, Steven Ritter; and sister, Helen Wanamaker. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Wednesday, February 4, 2015 at 2pm, Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Tracy Mull officiating. The burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1-2pm at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to East Hickory Baptist Church, 130 16th Street Southeast, Hickory, North Carolina 28602.
