Ronald was born on October 30th, 1943 in Catawba County to the late Austin and Arzta Benfield Smith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.
Surviving are a sister; Gail Smith Banks and husband Ronnie of Bakersville, NC a aunt, Wilma Wilkie of Hickory and a number of nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be held in Fairview Cemetery on Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at 11:00 A. M. with the Reverend Lawrence Jones officiating.
The family will receive friends on Tuesday November 29th 2011 from 9:30 A.M. until 10:30 A.M. at Hickory Funeral Home..
