Roy Thomas Stewart

HICKORY – Roy Thomas Stewart, 81 of Hickory went home to be with the Lord on April 5, 2024.

Born on January 5, 1943 in Lincoln County, he was son of the late Spurgon and Annie Helms Stewart. Roy was an avid hunter and fisherman who enjoyed the outdoors. He loved working in his garden and tending to his chickens. Roy was a loving father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, Everett and Bob Stewart.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Tammy Brewer and husband, Jerry, Cindy Patterson and husband, Eric; grandchildren, Curtis Lafone, Shay Lafone, Justin Lafone and wife Candice, Kiara Shuford, ; great-grandchildren, Ethan, Evan, Bella, Ivory, Nia, Lily, Bentley and Lamariana; siblings, Nancy Witherspoon and husband Jeff, Margaret Herman, Linda Lovelace, Irene Daves, Rosie Stewart, Dale Stewart and wife Debbie, Tex Stewart, Johnny Stewart and wife Martha and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Winklers Grove Baptist Church on April 20, 2024 at 1:00 pm with Pastor Dean officiating. Burial will follow at the Church Cemetery.
