Ruby L Hefner

Ruby L. Hefner, 88 of Hickory, NC went home to be with the Lord on Friday, October 23rd, 2026, at Trinity Ridge Nursing Home surrounded by her loved ones.

Born on July 1st, 1938, in Orangeburg County, SC, Ruby was the daughter of the late Shellie Summers and Mary Lou Nettles Summers. Ruby was loved by her family and friends and will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her 3 brothers, Vernon Summers, Cleo Summers and Terry Summers; her 2 sisters, Christine Bickley, and Maudelle Dukes Miller;

Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Clifford Hefner; her 2 sons, Jerry Hildebran and wife, Lela and Kevin Hildebran; her 2 grandsons, Chad Hildebran and Alex Hildebran; her 2 sisters, Eva Hall and Lillian Darlene Buck; her 2 brothers, Marion Sheckie Summers and James Allen McAlhany.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, October 29th, 2026, at 2:00 pm with Pastors Diane Cline and Al Mullens officiating. Entombment will follow the service at Catawba Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Trinity Ridge in Ruby’s name.
