Ruby Jean Lawrence

Ruby Cole Lawrence, 90, of Newton, passed away Saturday, October 24, 2026, after a period of declining health. Ruby was born in Cove Creek, NC on July 13, 1936. She was the daughter of the late William and Mary Cole.

In addition to her parents, Ruby was preceded in death by her husband, Dean Lawrence; and her daughters, Elizabeth and Donna Jean Lawrence.

Those remaining to cherish her memory are her daughters, Jackie Lawrence, Gayle Rogerson and husband Charles, and Deanna Reinhardt; her granddaughter, Stacy Jeter and husband Zach; and her great-grandchildren, Kai, Kallen, and Leiara; her brother, Frank Cole; her sister-in-law, Margaret Sue Caldwell, whom Ruby loved and considered a sister and dear friend; and several beloved nieces and nephews.

Among those who will cherish Ruby's memory are "her boys," Tra and Lance Watson, whom she loved as if they were her own.

A special mention goes to Ruby's caregiver of 10 years, Mary Bollinger. Mary was more than a caregiver, she became Ruby's best friend. Ruby cherished and enjoyed their time together.

A Funeral service will be held at 3:00 pm on October 29, 2026, at Oak Ridge Baptist Church, 7449 Oak Ridge Church Rd, Connelly Springs, NC 28612. Pastor Nicholas Wilson will officiate.

The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00pm to 2:45 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to the 50/50 Building Fund at Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
