Ruby Hoyle Reitzel

HICKORY— Ruby Hoyle Reitzel, 91, of Hickory passed away peacefully at Catawba Regional Hospice on May 22, 2017. Born in Cleveland County, on July 8, 1925, she was the daughter of the late James Pinkney and Maggie Jane Riley Hoyle. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Charles John Reitzel Sr., a grandson Christopher S. Reitzel; 2 sisters and 1 brother. Ruby was a member of Highland Baptist Church. She is survived by her sons Gary D. Reitzel and wife Bonita of Hickory, and Charles J. Reitzel Jr. and wife Deborah of Hickory; grandchildren Charles J. Reitzel III and wife Catherine of Conover, Kristen Reitzel of Hickory, Tammy Kresge and husband Kenneth of Dover, DE, and Craig Carter and wife Rebecca of Asheville and 8 great grandsons. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 25, 2017 from 9:30 am to 10:45 am at Highland Baptist Church. The funeral will be Thursday, May 25, 2017 at 11:00 am at Highland Baptist Church with Reverend Jesse Lott and Reverend Kenny Robison officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
