Ruth Stephens Gragg

HICKORY---Ruth Eller Stephens Gragg, 88, went to be with her Savior on December 13, 2015. Mrs. Gragg was born July 16, 1927 in Burke Co. to the late Willie E. and Effie Hildebrand Stephens. She was pre-deceased in death by her siblings, William, Ray, Clarence, Johnny Stephens, Shelby Finger and Anne Beard.Ruth was a member of Central Baptist Church. She is survived by her husband of 60 years, Fred Robert Gragg of the home; two sisters, Kay Stephens Upton of Hickory and Lucille Stephens Johnson of Vale; one brother, Grady Stephens and wife, JoAnn of Hickory; sisters-in-law, Ruth Gragg Smith, Donna Gragg, Doris Gragg and Mary Gragg Poore of Hudson, Stella Stephens and Connie Stephens of Hickory; brothers-in-law, Luther Gragg (Maggie) and Jay Gragg of Hudson and Eddie Gragg (Kathy) of Hickory. A celebration of her life will be on Wednesday, December 16, at 3:00 P. M. at Central Baptist Church with Rev. Bob Dockery and Rev. Darrell Webb officiating. Receiving of friends from 1:30 – 2:45 P. M. at the church. Interment to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Hickory, N. C. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Central Baptist Church, 107 10th. St., S. E., Hildebran, N. C. 28637.
