Ruth Helen Duncan Robinson, age 90, fell asleep in death at Trinity Village, Hickory, NC, on July 19, 2025. She now awaits the return of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ who will then awaken her from her sleep. She was born on November 20, 1934, to the late Ernest Lee Duncan and the late Daisy Emma Page Duncan in Hickory, North Carolina.
In addition to her parents, Ruth was preceded in death by her husband Ralph Robinson, two brothers, Zerden Billie Duncan and Bobby Gene Duncan, and two sisters, Myrtle Lea Duncan Simmons Martin and Ruby Mae Duncan Madercic. She was the last surviving child of her parents.
Ruth is survived by her daughter, Linda Martin Pearson of Lenoir, NC and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a member of Church of Resurrection Hope, a Church of God of Abrahamic Faith, in Lenoir, North Carolina.
Ruth lived in Florida for a number of years and was a successful salesperson and a consultant in cosmetics. She later returned to Hickory and helped in the care of her mother, her sister Ruby, and her brother Bobby. She was a loving and caring person and her family was very important to her.
Ruth never met a stranger, and she always had a smile for everyone she met. She also loved to read, especially the Bible, and to sing. Her smile, her singing, and her cooperative attitude endeared her to all the staff members who cared for her at Trinity+-9 Village. She loved her many stuffed animals which she called “her children.” At least one of these stuffed animals could be found with her at any given time.
A graveside service for Ruth will be held Wednesday, July 23, 2025 at 10:30 AM at Fairview Cemetery in Hickory, North Carolina, with burial to follow. Her nephew Paul Duncan will be officiating
