Sarah Eloise Conley

Sarah Eloise Laughridge Conley, 91, passed away on Monday, August 1, 2022 at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was born on September 16, 1930 to the late Andrew Laughridge and Melissa Carswell Laughridge in Burke County. Eloise was a God fearing woman, who deeply loved her family, and was a dedicated worker, working two jobs at a time to provide for her family and always found time to attend church in between her jobs. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Estelle Carswell, Ethel Spurlin, Josephine Davis; brothers, Lawrence Laughridge and Howard Laughridge. Survivors include her children, Deborah Cline and husband Thomas of Conover; Elizabeth Kay Conley of the home; Thomas Andrew Conley and wife Maria Gomez of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Christopher Lee Cline, Chelsey Massey; honorary grandchildren, Tanner Burns, Taylor May; great grandchildren, Natalie Sorrels, Kassidy Sorrels, Elizabeth Ally Massey, and Kaleigh Cline. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 13, 2022 at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Hickory Funeral Home. Pastor Terry Dickerson will be officiating the service. Burial will follow at Bethel United Methodist Church Cemetery
