

Seth Ward “Bumpy” Paschal, 78, surrounded by family members went to be with the Lord on December 30, 2025. He was born June 18, 1947 in Greensboro, NC. He was the son of the late Baxter Leon (Virginia Earl) Paschal. Seth graduated from Ben L. Smith High School (Greensboro) in 1967 and furthered his education by becoming a Certified Heavy Equipment Operator. He started working for the NCDOT, but in 1977, he joined the Water Resource Department for the City of Greensboro. After retiring in 2004, Seth became a Volunteer Driver for the DAV taking Veterans to their doctor appointments at area clinics.
In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his sister and brother-in-law, Debbie (Bynum) Blackburn; son-in-law, Patrick J. Stanley; brothers-in-law Neil Spencer, Roger Bullington, and Jimmy Seguin.
Seth and his wife, Carolyn, celebrated their 27th wedding anniversary on December 19, 2025. Also surviving are daughters, Tracy Stanley, Ashley (Kevin) McCollum, and Robyn (Jimmy) Decker; five grandchildren, Austin Kendrick, Nicholas Stanley, Taylor Stanley, Anna Ison, and Ethan Ison; sisters, Benny Spencer and fiancé Gary Comstock, Jenny Bullington, Linda Seguin, Lenlu (Larry) Luck, Ann B. (Toney) Conte, and Kelly (Randy) Coleman; sisters-in-law, Marsha (Raymond) Eggleton and Kathy Farus.
Affectionately called “Dad” by caregiver Dee (Andreas) Rodregus and daughter, Maria. Affectionately called “Vovo” (Grandpa) by Jeremy (Camilla) Lucas and children Joshua, Chole, Owen and Brody, Brian (Kensey) Guino, plus many nieces and nephews. Seth will be sorely missed by his dog, “Delilah” and cat “Sami”.

A memorial service will be held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, 6175 St. Peter’s Church Road, Conover, NC on January 17, 2026 at 12 noon with visitation from 10:30 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. prior to the service. Pastors Peter Frank and Eric Hauss will officiate.
