Sharon Files DuVall

Sharon Files Duvall, 69, of Hickory passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, March 7, 2015 while visiting her son in Arizona. Born March 17, 1945, in Springerton, IL, she was the daughter of the late Allen Pifer Files and Edith Mattie Thomas Files. Sharon retired from Corning Cable Systems and loved to go on impromptu trips whenever the urge hit her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ronnie Files and sister-in-law, Vennie Files.

Sharon is survived by her sons, Stephen Duvall of Buckeye, AZ, Matthew Duvall of Manhattan, Il, Philip Duvall and wife, Kathleen of Black Mountain, NC; daughters, Kellie Souther and husband, Daniel of Newton, and Kimberley McDaniel and husband, Ward of Benton, IL; grandchildren, Lorin Souther, Lindsay McDaniel, Erin McDaniel, Trey McDaniel, Caitlin McDaniel, Logan Duvall, Walker Duvall, Ellison Duvall, and Haleyanne Duvall; brothers, Edward Files and wife, Janice and Pifer Lee Files; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, March 15, 2015 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory with Rev. Scott Hooks officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service at Drum Funeral Home in Hickory.
