

Sharon was born September 20, 1956 in Catawba Co. to the late Paul H. and Mary Coffey Tolbert.
She was a retired school teacher, having taught math and science for 30 years in North Carolina, most recently at Jacobs Fork Middle School. Sharon touched thousands of lives with her teaching, and cared very much about her students. Sharon always had a smile and was a very compassionate and thoughtful person. She loved music and was very talented with sewing and needlework. Her legacy of kindness and generosity and her love of teaching will be forever remembered by her many family members and friends.
Surviving are her husband, Ken M. Flinchum of the home, her son, Andrew M. Flinchum of the home, her brother, Kevin Tolbert and wife, Cathy, of Hickory, nephew, Daniel Tolbert of Raleigh, surrogate parents, Allen and Willa Tolbert of Charlotte, special cousin, Pam Hall of Harrisburg, NC and numerous beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life services will be Thursday, October 20, 2011, at 5:00 PM at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with the Reverend Arthur Kreidel officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service Thursday at Hickory Funeral Home.
