CONNELLY SPRINGS - Sharon B. Fredell, of Connelly Springs, passed away peacefully at home on December 29th, and is now at rest with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She was 57 years old.

Sharon was born in Catawba County on October 26th, 1955 to Mr. Maura Lee and Mrs. Betty Jane Beard. In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband, Michael D. Fredell, a daughter, Jessica Lee Jordan and husband Michael, a son, Wesley Thomas Fredell and wife Debbie, and their two children, Tucker James and Gabrielle Elizabeth. She is also survived by her brother Mark Alan Beard of Charlotte.

Sharon graduated from St. Stephens High School in 1974 and attended Western Piedmont Community College where she was trained as a dental assistant. She married her husband in 1976 and settled in Conover where she had her two children. Shortly thereafter the family moved to Pine Mountain Estates in Connelly Springs and has remained there ever since. Over the years she worked as an oral surgeon assistant as well as a chiropractic assistant. Most recently she was serving as office administrator in the family business.

Sharon’s first devotion was and remained to the Lord Jesus Christ. Christ was the center of all things in life for her, whether raising and home-schooling her children, managing her home, or serving in the many ministries she and her husband began and nurtured. For many years they led Fresh Fire Ministries in Longview where they preached the gospel of Jesus Christ and aided many families in the community. Most recently, she was meeting weekly with the ladies in Burke Correctional Institute where she taught them the bible and witnessed to the life-transforming power of the gospel. She loved working with and serving people and received endless compliments on her ability to lighten someone’s load and bring a smile to their face. Her boundless optimism was contagious and she always left you knowing that there was hope in any circumstances with which you might be dealing. Her free time was devoted to her grandchildren where she sought to instill in them the same godly values she imparted to her children. She dearly loved her grandchildren.

Sharon, the depth of your absence only continues to grow. But it can never match the depth of the love I had and have for you. I will carry that love with me as long as the Lord gives me breath. And when He takes that I will have that love with me when I see you again. You were and will remain my heroine. I never knew and will likely never know a godlier woman than you, so full of faith in and love towards our Savior. I know you are bursting with joy right now and that brings a smile to me. I have a measure of that joy now, but will share it in all its perfection with you on that day. Until then, I will cherish every memory, and in time, that which now brings forth tears will fill me with a deeper longing to be with you once again. Your brother, Mark.

Sharon was the true model of what Christianity looks like. Her life showed Jesus to everyone she came in contact with. She must be needed in Heaven for a special reason but her spirit will live on through those who loved her. Our prayers are with the family.

We're so sorry for the Fredell/Beard families' loss and send our sincere sympathies.
Sharon's light was warm, infectious, and indelibly gracious. We will miss her love and cheer, her genuine devotion to her family and God, and her sweet optimistic well-lived life force. We never had far to look to find the BEST role-model! The memories will remain dear to our hearts.
Rest in peace, our wonderful neighbor.

We will miss her wonderful smile, loving advice and jest for life. She has to be seated at the right hand of our Father! One of his favorite Angels. Our prayers to the family.

She was a lovely person and a joy to be around. Even though I didn't know her well, her enjoyment of life and her enthusiasm for whatever she was doing made her special. I will miss her and I wish I would have had more time to know her better. My thoughts and prayers are for her family and friends.

Sharon was a real inspiration to me. As a physician I have seen many people die but none have done it with as much grace and faith as Sharon did. She really inspired me and showed me how faith will carry us all through hard times. She left a lasting impression on me. I thank her for that.
