Mrs. Shirley Ann Nelson

SHIRLEY ANN NELSON VALE – Shirley Ann Nelson, 75, of Vale passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Catawba Regional Hospice. She was born on June 1, 1939 in Catawba County. She was the daughter of the late Vance Weaver and Annie Huffman. She was a loving and devoted mother and grandmother. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, James Wesley Nelson. Survivors include her children, Carroll Huffman of Hickory, Richard Broadwell and wife Cindy of Newton, Deborah Broadwell of Vale, Angus Broadwell and wife Connie of Taylorsville; grandchildren, Heather Broadwell Collins and husband Brian of Taylorsville, Ashley and Drake Abernethy of Claremont, Kaitlyn and Casey Broadwell of Sanford; great-granddaughter, Brailyn Abernethy of Claremont. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on July 3, 2014 at 11 AM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations with Pastor Mike Davis officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
