SUSIE MAE COLLINS HICKORY – Susie Mae Collins, 73 of Hickory passed away after a long period of declining health on October 13, 2017. Born on September 30, 1944 in Waynesville, NC, she was the daughter of the late Everett Valentine and Lois Willix Spiva. Susie was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother who adored her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Glenn Allen Collins; brothers, Ralph Spiva and Richard “Tony” Spiva. Survivors include her sons, Jerry Collins of Hickory, Terry Collins and wife Robin of Hickory, Kenny Collins and wife Lori of Granite Falls; grandchildren, Brian Collins and wife Heather, Justin Collins, Jonathan Collins, Kristi Collins Stewart; four great-grandchildren; siblings, Curtis Spiva and wife, Dorothy, Linda Spiva Propst and husband, Buck, Larry Spiva and wife, Bonnie; and numerous nieces and nephews; and her beloved dog Buddy. A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2017 at 3 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. The family will receive friends after the service.
