Taiven Shane Canipe Jr.

December 2, 1998March 31, 2019

Taiven S. Canipe, 20, of Conover and Hildebran went into the arms of Jesus on Sunday, March 31, 2019 at his residence. Taiven was born December 2, 1998 in Catawba County to a loving mother, Buffy Spencer Greene and loving father, Shane Canipe. He had a special bond with his brothers, Jadison and Carter and protector of his little baby sister Kinsley. In their eyes “he could do no wrong” and “he walked on water”. He took these close relationships serious and could be heard advising them in a positive and loving demeanor. This was “our” Taiven, a kind hearted and loving soul who shared often. It was appreciated by the love of his life, his sweetheart, Emily Moore. Another love in his life was sports. He was a great athlete and known by his teammates and friends as “Super Man”. Baseball and football were amongst his favorites. In competition is where he touched many lives and built countless special relationships. He was a happy, go lucky kind of dude and we know in our hearts that has not changed. We love you son.

Left to cherish his memories is his mother, Buffy Greene and step-dad, Jason Greene, dad, Shane Canipe and step-mom Misty Propst; grandparents, Randy and Becky Canipe, Dennis and Carla Spencer, Gerald and Donna Southers, Mike and Kathy Arrowood, and Kenny and Debbie Hoover; great-grandmothers, Josie Spencer and Shelby Canipe; little sister, Kinsley Canipe; little brothers, Jadison Greene, Carter Nichols; many special friends, teammates and coaches that he considered part of his family. An additional survivor includes his loyal companion and buddy, “Roscoe”.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 o’clock p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 5, 2019, in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home, 940 29th Avenue, NE, Hickory, 828-267-5740.

A Celebration of Taiven’s life will be celebrated, 2:00 o’clock p.m. on Sunday, April 7, 2019 in the Chapel of Drum Funeral Home in Hickory. The Reverend Scott Johnson of St. John’s Lutheran will be officiating. Interment will be private.

Online condolences and favorite memories may be shared with the respected Canipe and Greene Families @ who has been committed to Taivens service arrangement. Your thoughts and stories, no matter how small or brief, are very comforting to the family in their time of grief. Please share.

Taiven and my grandson, Brandon were only five months apart. My daughter Stephanie and Buffy were best friends at that time and both shared the joys of the birth of their sons. Brandon and Taiven would have many play dates together through the years. I enjoyed seeing Taiven and Brandon build a friendship like their moms had. As they grew older they both went in different directions, but the memories of their friendship still remain. Stephanie loved Taiven and I know that she was waiting for him in heaven with open arms and love.

A loss of a child is something that , unless you have lost a child, you can never understand the deep grief that takes over a parent. There are no words that can fill the loss at this time. The process of grieving the loss of a child is a much more profound and deep pain a parent feels then any other loss. Only time will ease the pain of your loss and no one knows how much time that will take. There is no wrong or right way to grieve.

After being at the receiving last night and seeing hundreds of people paying their respect to the family, it was so obvious that Taiven touch so many lives in a positive way, so many memories that will bring a smile and show the wonderful person he was, so many stories about how he made a difference or made someone's day. So many hearts are feeling sadness because he was here and now he is gone, Because he was so loved.

Celebrate your memories, and in those memories may you find comfort.

You are my everything, you will always be my everything. I’m constantly flooding with memories of us. Sliding down Memow and Papows stairs with pillows. Playing with your hot wheels you called moo-moos. I’m pretty sure your diaper was the first I had changed or at least attempted to. Watch over us please, I love you always and forever. To infinity and beyond.

Taiven you were my best friend. I remember when we played together, laughed together and spent time together. We kind of lost touch over the years, but I have so many memories of our time together. My love goes out to your parents and family because I know that they loved you and so did I.

Taiven was such a sweet and genuine person. We haven’t see each other in a few months but he was always a good friend of mine. Taiven has taken foods in foods with me in high school and I remember when I had caught the flu he messaged me making sure I was okay and let me know what a was missing. Also I went with taiven that same year swimming at his house. Also, Brent and I enjoyed spending time with taiven at the beach when everyone went after graduation. And many more memories that I will cherish! I was lucky to have known taiven and even luckier to have called him my friend. I know he will be watching over all of us and his name will never be forgotten!
