Thelma Ann Shipman Sumpter, 81, of Hickory passed away on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 at Springs of Catawba in Hickory. Born August 16, 1940 in Brevard, NC, she was the daughter of the late Gaines Shipman and Ruby Pearson Shipman.
A member of Abee’s Chapel Baptist Church, she previously worked as an upholstery inspector in the furniture industry.
Those left to cherish her memory are her sons, David Ivey and Craig Ivey; daughter, Angela Ivey; sister, Janice Adams; grandchildren, Andrea Williams, Jeremy Greer, Josh Ivey, Courtney Jones, Tanner Ivey and Adam Ivey; and great-grandchildren, Khloe Williams, Aubrey Greer, Waylon Greer, Kobe Lail, Kaylen Jones, Rowan Jones and Emily Jones.
There will be no service at this time.
