Mr. Tommy Eugene Kelley

TOMMY E. KELLEY HICKORY-Tommy E. Kelley, 68, of Hickory passed away on December 27, 2014. Born on May 10, 1946 in Caldwell County, he was the son of the late Alvis and Beulah Kelley. Tommy served in the US Army, doing two tours in the Vietnam War. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend to all who knew him. Tommy enjoyed gardening and was an avid outdoorsman. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Melvin Kelley. Survivors include his loving wife of 19 years, Marilyn Kelley of Hickory, children, Lisa Canipe and husband Roger of Hildebran, Judy Lowe and husband Kenneth of George Hildebran, Jeff Townsend of LA, Timothy E. Kelley and wife Paula of Lenoir, Karen Noel and husband Pete of Granite Falls, Jodie Garriques and husband George of Jacksonville, FL; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; siblings, Ethel Brown of Hudson, Polly Coffey of Lenoir, Wayne Kelley of Rhodhiss, Joe Kelley and wife Ila of Hickory, and Dwight Kelley and wife Roselyn of Dudley Shoals. A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Tuesday, December 30, 2014 at 1 PM at Catawba Funerals & Cremations. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12-1 PM at the funeral home. Condolences may be left at catawbamemorialpark.com.
