"On Friday, July 10th, 2020, Tou Xiong, loving mother of ten children, passed away at the age of 89.
Tou was born on May 6th, 1931 in the town of Muaglong, Luamphamba, Laos to Chong Vang Moua and Maisee Chang. Besides being an amazing homemaker, Tou was also extremely skilled at horticulture. In 1953, she married Chong Neng Xiong. They raised two sons, Tub Lue and Blia Ly, and eight daughters, Yua, Mai Dua, Geng, Lia, Mi, Yeng, Gao Kia and Ana.
Tou lost her father at the age of 8 and was raised by her paternal grandparents. She grew up always wanting a better life for her children; therefore, she worked hard to make sure they never needed anything. She was a selfless person who dedicated her entire life to the happiness of her children. She had a passion for creating intricate art through her needlework to adorn the traditional Hmong clothing for her loved ones. She was a God loving woman, an honorable wife, a selfless mother, a loving grandmother and the most caring great-grandmother ever.
Tou was preceded in death by her father, Chong Vang Moua, her mother, Maisee Chang, her brother, Chai Dua, her husband, Chong Neng Xiong, and three of her children, Tub Lue, Gao Kia and Yeng Xiong. She is survived by her youngest sister, Shoua, seven of her children, Blia Ly, Yua, Mai Dua, Geng, Lia, Mi, and Ana, forty-six of her grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held on Friday, July 24th and Saturday, July 25th, 2020 at the Catawba Memorial Park, Funerals & Cremations on US Hwy 70 SE starting at 9:00 o’clock a.m."
