Bud was born on February 5, 1944, in Connelly Springs, North Carolina, to the late Johnnie and Viola Beaver. He was raised with a strong work ethic and a generous spirit that would come to define his entire life. Those who knew him understood that Bud was a man who never sat idle when there was work to be done or a person in need.
For over forty years, Bud built and sustained Pleasure Pools and Spas which became a cornerstone of his professional life and his commitment to the community. Through that business, he provided for his family with tireless dedication and earned the trust and respect of countless customers who became lifelong friends. Bud enjoyed hunting, fishing, and racing as well as spending time with family, friends and his faithful dogs.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Brenda Beaver; daughter, Melissa Beaver; son, Jonathan Beaver and wife, Shaffney; grandchildren, Gregory Smyre II and wife, Kerby; Madalyn Abbott and husband, Alex; Jonathan Beaver II and partner, Justin; Miranda Smyre; Tate Beaver and wife, Leanna; great-grandchildren Gregory Smyre III; Clarence Smyre; and Beau Beaver. He is also survived by his sisters, Earlene Starnes and Catherine Robinson.
Bud's humor and presence made the world a better place, and he will continue to live on in the memories, the epoch stories, the laughter, and the countless lives that he touched on a daily basis. As Scripture reminds us, "Well done, good and faithful servant; thou hast been faithful over a few things, I will make thee ruler over many things: enter thou into the joy of thy lord." (Matthew 25:23).
