Virginia Crump Buckner

Virginia was born Nov. 16, 1915, in Caldwell County to the late Daniel Boone and Nancy Louise Craig Crump. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Glenn Buckner, five sisters and three brothers.

She was a member of Providence Baptist Church and retired from Century Furniture.

Surviving are daughters, Annie Sue Hicks and husband, J.D., of Winter Haven, Fla., and Judy Karen Eldridge of Winston-Salem; sons,William Harvey Buckner of Hudson, Jack Wayne Buckner of Morganton, Charles R. Buckner of Vale, Gary Lee Buckner of Rutherford College and Billy Dean Buckner of Vale; 23 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and 18 great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be Monday, Dec. 13, at 1 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church, with the Rev. Ernest Richards officiating.

The body will be placed in the church 30 minutes prior to the funeral service.

Burial will follow in Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Providence Baptist Church.
