Wayne Lester Price

He was born on January 6, 1946, to the late Mack Price and Mary Kincaid in Lenoir, NC. Wayne had a love for plants, gardening, antiquing, and decorating for Christmas. He will be remembered for making people laugh and telling jokes. He had many employment opportunities, owner/operator over the road truck driver, Joan Fabric, and Lowes Distribution Center

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 42 years, Frances L. Price, sisters; Irene P. Yelton, Shirley Penley, brother, Robert Penley, son, Timothy W. Price, stepson, Ricky Hoke, stepdaughter, Robin Rudisull, and his aunt and uncle who helped raise him since the age of 4, Joyce and Wayne Sherrill.

Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Ginger L Winters (Paul) of Union, SC, step son, Buster Hoke (Terri) of Hickory, NC, four grandchildren; Sierra Parks (Joseph), Joshua Winters, Jacob Winters, Trinity Hoke Carver (Wesley), great grandchild, Callie Carver, sister, Margaret Pritchard (Ken), brother, Allen Penley, sister, Kathy Darby and numerous nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 9, 2026, at 3:00 p.m. at Winkler’s Grove Baptist Church. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 until 3:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Paul Deal will officiate the service.
