Willard was born March 11, 1929 in Catawba Co. to the late McKindley Smyre and Bessie Yoder Smyre Silvey.
He was retired from Hickory Construction Co.
He is survived by 24 first cousins.
A graveside service will be Friday, November 4, 2011, at 2:00 PM at Bethlehem Lutheran Church with reverend John Duncan officiating.
Hickory Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
