William Harrison Soots

HICKORY----William Harrison Soots, 82, passed away February 10, 2016 at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center after a period of declining health. William was born February 1, 1934 in Wilkes Co. to the late Lessie Mae Cheeks Soots and John Harrison Soots, Sr. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by two brothers, R. C. Soots and John Harrison Soots, Jr. and a sister, Sue Soots. William was a member of Huntington Hills Church of God, a veteran of the U. S. Army/Korean War and was retired from the furniture industry. Surviving is his wife of 60 years, Peggy Ann Easom Soots; sons, Matt Soots of Hickory and John Bryan Soots of Taylorsville; daughter, Theresa Allen and husband, Trent of Sims, NC; grandsons, Matt Soots, Jr. and Harlee Allen brothers, Odell “Buck” Soots and wife, Peggy and Bobby Soots and a sister, Mae Swanson. Services will be Saturday, February 13, 2016, at 3:30 P. M. at Huntington Hills Church of God with Rev. Harvey Turner, Jr. and Rev. Wade Easom officiating. A private burial will be at Salisbury National Cemetery with military honors.
