William Marsh Stoss, Jr., found peace with the Lord on Wednesday, May 14, 2025, at Amorem Hospice in Hudson surrounded by his loved ones.
Born on July 27, 1945, in Newark, NJ, Bill was the son of the late William Marsh Stoss, Sr. and Ruth Fladd Stoss. Bill was a dedicated member of the Knights of Columbus and enjoyed distributing Tootsie Rolls for Operation Lamb. He was also a proud member of the Marine Corps League supporting Toys for Tots. Bill received multiple awards from the Knights of Columbus and the Marine Corps League. He was loved by his family and will be dearly missed.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his siblings Katherine Williams (Edward), Charlotte Stoss, and Timothy Stoss, daughter-in-law Tammie Stoss and his son-in-law Terry Stanberry.
Those left to cherish his memory include his wife of 32 years, Ellen Blackwell Stoss; son Lee Stoss (Cynthia), daughter Mel Stoss Stanberry, stepdaughter Suzanne Storie (Jarrett), and goddaughter Karen Thomas (Darrel); grandchildren: Marilyn Stoss Coleman (Kelyn II), Anthony Gosnell (Tiffanie), Cody Stoss, Zaylee Stoss, Rebecca Jones (Nic), Matthew Storie (Rei), Adam Storie (Stacey); great-grandchildren: Gavin Stoss, Kelyn “Bean” Coleman III, and Neveah Gosnell, Presley Emory, Leah Storie and Ruby Storie; and his nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at Catawba Funeral Home on Thursday, May 22nd, 2025, at 2:00 pm with Father Jose Camilo Cardenas officiating. Bill will be laid to rest following the service at Catawba Memorial Park with the rendering of military honors.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Amorem Hospice of Hudson, NC in Bill’s name.
