Rev. Willie James Douglas Jr.

He was born on June 15, 1940 to the late Willie James Douglas Sr. and Gertrude Ramseur Douglas in Mecklenburg County. Willie was licensed and ordained under Ebenezer Baptist Church Charlotte, NC. He was a great follower of the Rev. A.B. Sutton from Birmingham, AL. Willie was a volunteer Chaplin for Catawba Memorial Hospital and Frye Regional Medical Center. He was a United States Army Veteran serving in the Vietnam War.

He is survived by his adopted brother; Rev. Charles J. Ferguson and wife Brenda of Statesville; adopted daughter, Charlette Ferguson of Statesville; and adopted granddaughter, Aereyanna Ferguson of Statesville.

A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023 at 1:00 p.m. at Bethlehem Church of God. A receiving of friends will be held prior to the service from 12:00 until 1:00 p.m. at the church. The Rev. Brett Carter and Rev. Charles J. Ferguson will officiate the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Amvets Post 76 will render military honors.
