Willie Lee (King) Teague

CONNELLY SPRINGS — Willie King Teague, 93, of Connelly Springs, passed away peacefully at Trinity Village on Monday, December 17, 2018. Born in Durham County on December 19, 1924, she was daughter of the late Edward B. and Mamie Hudson King. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Clyde Teague; son-in-law Ray Shelton; daughter-in-law Kristine Teague; sister Vera Bowen; 12 step brothers and sisters. Willie was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church for the past 60 years. A loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother, she was a caring and generous soul who spent her life giving to others. She will be deeply missed by family and friends.

She is survived by her daughter Brenda Shelton of Hickory; twin sons Doug Teague and wife Charlotte of Shelby and Dwight Teague of Hickory; twin granddaughters Debbie Moritz and husband Michael of Conover and Barbara Weaver and husband Brock of Valdese, granddaughters Jennifer Garvley and husband Keith of Hickory, Jessica Paul and husband Milo of Charlotte, Erin Watts and husband Bill of Washington, DC, and Meredith Macfarlane and husband Matt of Raleigh; grandsons Steve Shelton and wife Dawn of Hildebran, Bryan Shelton and wife Monica of Connelly Springs, Justin Teague and wife Shellie of Hickory and Jeffery Teague and wife Ricki of Toronto Canada; 17 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 19, 2018 from 1:00 pm to 1:45 pm at Hickory Funeral Home. The funeral will be Wednesday, December 19, 2018 at 2:00 pm on her 94th birthday, at Hickory Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Scott Hooks officiating. Burial will follow at Catawba Memorial Park.
