I was saddened by the news of Coach Jacklin's passing. He was a terrific man with a great sense of humor. I treasure the memories of playing JV basketball for him and spending 3 years in his homeroom.
May he rest in peace.

My deepest sympathies to the Jacklin family.  I will always have many fond memories of Harry's biting sense of humor and his great love for his students.

Our thoughts and prayers are with all the family at this difficult time.  We only wish we could have been there personally to support you.  God bless.

To all of the members of the family I extend my sincerest sympathy at Mr. Jacklin's passing.

Most assuredly, his legacy lives on within the Wantagh students he both taught and coached.

I fondly remember a group of impressionable teenagers, myself included, gathered on the junior varsity baseball diamond at Wantagh H.S. all of whom were mesmerized by Coach Jacklin's knowledge of the game, his contagious enthusiasm and, of course, his most unique catch phrases involving words like "huckleberry" and "can of corn".

I, like Bob Boyle who posted before me, was also priviliged to be a part of Mr. Jacklin's 8th grade math class.  Sometimes he taught math and sometimes, to the delight of many, he also offered us the latest regarding his weekend adventures on the football sidelines moving the chains.

He was a special man and I needed to share this with you.

Mr. Jacklin was my math teacher in Wantagh during the early 1950s. He was funny in class and actually made the class a fun event. I met him again, after 40 years, in 1995, and he hadn't changed at all; still a jolly guy with a smile on his face. After meeting him again, he asked me to call him by his given name, but I just couldn't. It would have been like calling my dad by his first name.

Rose, Alfie, Peter, and Andy (and all of your families),

I was very saddened to hear of your dad's passing.  Although the past few years probably haven't been easy, the rich full life your dad lived will be what we all remember.
He was a character, a truly unique guy. He was who he was and everyone respected and loved him for it.
Our family will always cherish the memories of your dad and your family and all of our our simple lives at Washington Beach.  We will miss him.

I am so sorry for your loss. Your father/grandfather will be remembered in my heart. I have such wonderful memories of him which I will always cherish.
