June 15, 1934 – February 17, 2025
It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Barbara E. Drummond, a longtime resident of Hicksville, New York, on February 17th, 2025, at the age of 90. Born on June 15th, 1934, in Brooklyn, NY, Barbara was the daughter of Gordon and May Post.
Barbara was the beloved wife of Edward J. Drummond for over 72 wonderful years, and dear sister to Lorrie Post. She was a loving mother to Denise (Howie Schwartz), Kenneth Drummond, and the late Kevin Drummond. Her legacy lives on through her cherished grandchildren—Keith Drummond (Caitlin), Kristy, Matthew, Lindsay (Andrew Parra), Lacey (Phillip Samanov), and Cole—and her adored great-grandchildren, Kyle, Karina, Kolin, Camryn, Aria, Renan, and Hilde, with another great-grandchild on the way.
A woman of many talents and passions, Barbara was a beloved member of Holy Family Church, where she sang with the Holy Family Players. Her greatest joy came from spending time with her family, whether it was chatting with her sister Lorrie about the evening's TV programs or sharing stories with her grandchildren. Barbara was a deeply caring and selfless individual, who devoted over 10 years of her life to taking care of her son Kevin, who battled ALS. She was his unwavering support, tending to his every need with love and dedication. Beyond her daily caregiving, she made sure he could continue to enjoy life and moments of joy, ensuring he was able to get out and be with his friends while they played pool. Her compassion and devotion will always be remembered by those who witnessed the strength and love she gave so freely. Barbara also had a soft spot for ice cream and was a devoted patron of IHOP. She was also an exceptional baker, and her family fondly remembers her famous crumb cake, which will always remain a treasured part of their memories.
Barbara's love for life, her family, and her community will never be forgotten.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Barbara's memory to Holy Family R.C. Church, Hicksville, NY.
