Charles Frank Ganassa, affectionately known as “Chuck,” age 70, passed away in August 2026. A lifelong resident of Jericho, New York, Chuck was a kind, caring, and generous person who will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Chuck found great joy in the simple things in life. He loved spending time with his friends and especially fishing out East. He also had a love for gardening and took pride in growing vegetables, enjoying the rewards of tending to his garden.
Chuck dedicated 43 years of his life to serving the State of New York through the Department of Social Services. His long career reflected his strong work ethic, dedication, and commitment to others.
Those who knew Chuck will remember him for his warm heart, kindness, and caring nature. He had a way of making those around him feel comfortable and valued. His friendship, laughter, and presence will remain in the hearts of all who loved him.
Visitation will be held at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801, on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Family and friends will gather at the funeral home on Thursday morning, August 13, at 8:30 a.m. A funeral procession will leave the funeral home at 9:30 a.m.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Church of St. Paul the Apostle, 2534 Cedar Swamp Road, Brookville, NY 11545, on Thursday, August 13, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m.
Interment will follow at Cemetery of the Holy Rood, 111 Old Country Road, Westbury, NY 11590, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Chuck will be remembered for his kindness, his caring spirit, his love of friendship, his enjoyment of fishing and gardening, and the many years he devoted to his work and community. Though he is no longer with us, the memories he created and the lives he touched will remain forever.
