Edward Ahr, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend, passed away peacefully on November 16, 2025, at the age of 72. Born in the Bronx, New York, to Edward and Rose Ahr, he was a man known for his intelligence, warmth, and deep love for his family, leaving behind a legacy of joy, compassion, and resilience.
Edward met the late Susan Ahr, and together they built a family. They were married for many years and raised one son, Andrew. Edward is survived by his son, Andrew, his daughter in law, Stefanie, and his cherished grandson, Quinten, with whom he shared a special bond. His love for Quinten was unmatched, and he found immense joy in spending time with his grandson, playing and sharing in the simple pleasures of life.
Edward was a devoted brother to his two sisters, Marguerite (Joseph) and Patricia (Michael), and his deep connections with his family were always a source of pride. He was a man who valued his relationships and his warmth, positivity, and unwavering support touched the lives of everyone who knew him.
In retirement, Edward found great joy in being an active member of the Knolls Community, where he formed lasting friendships and enjoyed going out with neighbors and friends. He was also a regular attendee at Mass, a practice that provided him with both comfort and peace. Edward was always the life of the conversation, known for his sense of humor and his ability to lift others’ spirits with his laughter.
Edward had a sharp mind and a passion for numbers and statistics, particularly when it came to sports. His knowledge of sports stats, especially for his beloved New York Mets, was unparalleled. He could often be found watching the games, analyzing the plays, and discussing every detail with an enthusiasm that matched his love for the team.
A lover of movies, Edward was especially drawn to films "based on a true story," both for their entertainment value and for the inspiring journeys they depicted. These stories of characters overcoming adversity resonated deeply with him, and he admired the strength and resilience of figures like Muhammad Ali, whose story of rising from hardship earned Edward's praise and respect.
Edward also had a deep love for travel, but above all, he loved to enjoy life to the fullest. His optimism and zest for life were infectious. He was known for his positive attitude, his intelligence, and his ability to make others feel heard, valued, and loved.
