Evangelia was the beloved wife of Thomas Pekmezaris, mother of Dr. Renée Pekmezaris-Clement and Trudy Scafura, and grandmother (“Yia Yia”) to Nicole, Lia and Michael Scafura, and Thomas, Damian and Catherine Clement. "Vangie was the beloved sister of Tino Caplanson and mother-in-law to Michael Scafura and Dr. Peter Clement. A former dance teacher, ballerina and Rockette, she most recently served her community as a coordinator at the Town of Oyster Bay’s Planning and Development Department.
She passed away on May 4, 2020.
She will be forever missed.
