Frances C. Simile

Longtime Hicksville resident, Frances Catherine Simile nee Hearn, passed away on Tuesday, November 15 , 2011 in Good Shepherd Hospice Center, Port Jefferson, New York at the age of 95. She was preceded in death by her husband, Michael Simile, former Grand Knight of Joseph Barry Council Knights of Columbus, Hicksville, New York, granddaughter Shirley Simile Peck, and grandson Steven Mark Simile.

She will be mourned and missed by her son, Michael S. Simile and his wife Erin O’Grady Simile, her daughter, Veronica Simile Cotter, five grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, nephew Daniel William Sullivan and niece Peggy Gagnon, nee Jellaly.

Frances and husband Mickey moved from the Bronx, NY to Hicksville in December 1950, and raised their two children here. Frances was an active member of the Catholic Daughters Court Queen of Angels in Hicksville. She was a talented seamstress, liked to travel, play golf, and bowl. She had been an employee of the A&P grocery chain for 22 years when she retired in 1979.

Viewing will be at Vernon C Wagner Funeral Home 125 W. Old Country Rd. Hicksville on Friday 2-4 & 7-9PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be said on Saturday, November 19 at 9:45 AM at St. Ignatius Loyola Roman Catholic Church, Broadway, Hicksville. Internment will follow at Holy Rood Cemetery, Westbury, New York. In lieu of lowers, donations to Good Shepherd Hospice of Port Jefferson, NY in her memory are appreciated.
