Gail Ellen Wagner

Gail Ellen Wagner of Hicksville, NY, formerly of Westbury, NY, passed away on Saturday, June 10 at the age of 78. She was born on January 14, 1945 at Mitchel Field in Garden City, NY, to Richard James McCool and Virginia Louise Leek, the oldest of six children. On July 11, 1965, she married the love of her life, Charles Edward Wagner, in Levittown, NY. They moved to East Meadow, then to Westbury and raised four daughters.

She loved reading, crossword puzzles, pottery, gardening, and feeding the birds. Most of all, she loved her daughters, her sons-in-law, and her seven grandchildren. She is survived by her daughters Wendy Wagner, Jennifer Rindos, Leslie Nickels and Carrie McMichael; her sons-in-law Ken Zirkel, Tom Rindos, Bruce Nickels, and Tom McMichael; and her grandchildren Sophie and Eric Zirkel, Leah Rindos, John and Jake Nickels, and Tommy and Natalie McMichael.

Friends and family may call at the Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home at 125 West Old Country Rd, Hicksville on Thursday, June 15, from 2 to 4 pm and 6 to 8 pm.
