George Robert Losco, Bob or Bobby to all, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2017. He was born and raised in NYC. In 1955, he married Susan Speedling and they subsequently moved to Long Island where they lived for the rest of their lives and raised four children. Bob was a NYC police officer for 31 years until his retirement in 1986. He enjoyed playing golf, but most of all he loved going to his childrens' and grandchildrens' sporting events. It was the highlight of his life.
He cared very deeply about his four children and his four grandchildren. He always said he was a lucky man and never wanted for anything more in his life than his family's happiness.
Bob was always the life of the party and made people laugh not only at his jokes but at themselves. He always wanted people to have a good time because "life is short, so enjoy it while you can". The world will be a different place for the family and friends he leaves behind, but the world is a better place because he was here for almost 90 years.
Bob's wife predeceased him in 2003. He is survived by his children, Robert, Liz Fritts, Bill and his wife Vicki and Tom. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Bryan and Hayley Fritts and Zach and Samantha Losco.
We will miss our Dad/Grandpa very much but we will carry him in our hearts forever. "Don't forget the seatbelt, Bobby."
A service will be held on Monday, July 10th from 2pm-4pm at Vernon C. Wagner Home.
