Hughes - Gerald P. age 87 of Parkland, FL formerly of Hicksville, peacefully on March 1, 2017. Adoring husband of the late Margaret "Winnie" Hughes. Beloved father of James (Marianne), Robert (Laura), Patricia Liotta (Frank) and Gerald, Jr. (Tara). Proud Pop-Pop to Patricia, Michael, John, Brendan, Jake, Christopher, Patrick, Jack & Sean, as well as uncle to many loving nieces and nephews. Jerry was a proud Irish-American who served our country in the US Navy, US Coast Guard Reserves and the City of NY as a Detective in the NYPD. Visitation will be held on Friday, March 10, 2017 from 2-4 and 7-9pm at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home, 125 W. Old Country Rd., Hicksville, NY. Mass Saturday, March 11 at 9:45 am at Holy Family RC Church, 17 Fordham Avenue, Hicksville, NY. Interment at The Cemetery of The Holy Rood, Westbury NY.
