Born on October 13, 1932, Gina immigrated to the United States in the 1960s, bringing with her a rich heritage, strong values, and a boundless love for family that would define her life. She shared a devoted marriage of 55 years with her beloved husband, Angelo, until his passing in 2013. Together, they built a warm and welcoming home filled with laughter, tradition, and enduring love.
Gina was a cherished mother to Vincenzo (Claudia) Ciminera and Angelo (Barbara) Ciminera. She was the heart of her family, known affectionately as “Nonna” to her grandchildren: Nicole (Eric Hammond) Ciminera, Marissa (Robert) Mulitz, Michael Ciminera, Christina Ciminera, Laura (Jacob) Hill, Vincent Ciminera, Domenico DelGiacco, Johnpaul (Giovanna) Donato, and Vincenzo (Marina) Palazzolo. Her love extended to her great-grandchildren, Nora and Nash Hill, and Valentina and Vincenzo Palazzolo, who also lovingly called her Nonna.
She is survived by her siblings Raffaele (Elena) Ciminera, Concetta Marini, Giosina Muscarela, Mario (Josephine) Ciminera, and Grazia (Amato) Biancaniello, and was predeceased by her brother Vincenzo Ciminera.
Gina’s greatest joy in life was her family. She created lasting memories through simple but meaningful traditions, especially the cherished annual gathering each August to make her homemade sauce, a labor of love that brought generations together. Her home was always open, and she took pride in sharing the family’s homemade wine with anyone who visited, offering not just a drink but her warmth, generosity, and hospitality.
She will be remembered for her strength, her devotion, and the deep love she gave so freely to all who knew her. Her legacy lives on in the family she adored and the traditions she passed down.
Family and friends may visit on Wednesday, April 15, 2026, from 2:00–4:30 pm and 7:00–9:00 pm at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Home. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday, April 16, 2026, at St. Ignatius of Loyola RC Church in Hicksville, NY. Entombment will follow at Queen of All Saints Cemetery in Central Islip, NY.
Gina will be deeply missed and forever remembered with love.
