My father-in-law lived a long and fulfilling life.  He had many titles: Husband, father, father-in-law, and grandpa, just to name a few. Much like my own father, Jack’s family was his universe, which he bragged about with great pride.   He was always a happy jokester, and made me feel like a and member of the family from the day that I first met him.  Thank you for making time in your life for me.


My Grandpa, the only grandpa I’ve ever known and the best one. I will love you and miss you forever. I’m so blessed to have been able to spend 30 years with you in my life. You were one of the most important people in my life and I loved you more than you knew. I always made sure to spend as much time with you and grandma as possible, not only because I wanted to make memories with you while I could but because I genuinely had an amazing time with you. We always played cards and games. Crazy 8s, rummy, blackjack, double solitaire, wood tag, and the list goes on. We’d play cards, eat dinner, then watch wheel of fortune and jeopardy while you had coffee and I had some cookies. You were always so good at jeopardy. You were so smart and full of knowledge. I will cherish so many memories with you forever. You were the best grandpa anyone could ever ask for. I know you’re up there with your parents and sister and my daddy joking around and having a good time.  I love you so much. 

He was a loving and caring man who always put his wife, children and grandchildren above all else.  To be in his presence to share stories and jokes felt like a warm hug.   Family will gather again, but he will be forever missed.  Prayers to comfort his family. 

My loving dad was the best father, grandfather, father in law, and husband! He taught me many things growing up and was a true role model for me. Dad was always there to help me with my house from Sheet rocking the kitchen to changing electrical outlets. Dad was always there asking to help his family with there projects . Most of all, his sense of humor and jokes could put a smile on your face, no matter how sad or upset you were! His love for my mother and unconditional love for all five of his children was undeniable! Dad, we will all miss you so much, but I know we will always carry your love in our hearts forever..I know you will always watch over our family, and when we remember you, it will be with greatest love any son could have for their father! Loving you always and forever daddy.

My father in law was truly a special man who loved his family immensely! His sense of humor and total devotion to all of his family was reflected in everything he did! My father-in-law loved his son and grandchildren, yet genuinely loved me as a daughter,  Dad, I will miss you everyday, but know you are watching over us from heaven, fly high with the angels, and rest in eternal peace! 

RIP my second dad. You were loved by so many and will be missed dearly.  I feel blessed that every trip I've made to New York in the last few years you've known who I am... Thank you for opening your heart and arms and your family and home to me. Soar with the Angels, till we  meet again....

My father he was the most loving father.
He taught me many things How to play baseball, how to properly handle a firearm, how to hunt.The best thing he taught me was how to be a good husband to my wife. He was such example of what a husband should be. I saw how much he loved my mother and us kids. He was a man of integrity .He will greatly missed.

My Dad certainly lived a long happy life.  Everyone that knew him, loved him.  He is well known for his great sense of humor and always made everyone laugh.  His family was his first love, but he also enjoyed fishing, golfing, reading and playing games.  He served in the Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Princeton CVI.  He was also a Nassau County Police Officer for 30 years retiring as a Highway Patrolman.  I was always so proud that my father was a Police Officer.  
His faith was a big part of his life and was a parishioner for over 50 years at St. Pius X RC Church in Plainview.  He served as a Eucharist Minister, worked at the annual bazaar doing security and also was a Baseball Coach for the CYO team. 
I have so many wonderful memories growing up in a large family with loving parents.  He was a wonderful father and I have always been so proud to be his daughter.  One of my many favorite memories was that me and Dad had our own Book Club.  We read many James Patterson novels together and would discuss them.  We read the Janet Evanovich series together.  We would chat, laugh & laugh about the hilarious cast of characters and their antics! 
My Dad was my friend, teacher, hero and always there to help me! I will miss you so much! You are now in Peace and into Eternal Life. 
 I love you Dad, you’ll always be in my heart and I’ll always be your “little girl” 💖

Jack has been the light of my life for 66 years. God truly blessed us with five wonderful children and ten grandchildren. He was always so happy to play with them, pull out their little teeth, and patched up their boo boos. He converted to Catholicism right before we married and was one of the best Catholics I ever knew. Jack went on the NCPD in 1953 and we married in 1954. He became a Eucharistic minister about fifty years ago and for many years he loved to bring communion to the sick and chat with them. I was always proud of the good example he set for our children. Jack was blessed with a terrific sense of humor and everyone remembers that about him. Unfortunately at the end he suffered so much that we all prayed for God to take him Home and he did! Now we have our own special Saint to intercede to the Lord for us. He will be missed by all!

Dad the world was a better place with you in it. You were a hard working,loving family man. Everyone who knew you are happy they did know you. You were so funny, smart, caring gentle man. I will treasure the 35+ years we played golf together. You taught me so much by helping me with home projects. Thanks for being a great father and  grandfather to Jake, Sara and Emma and father in law to Laura. You will missed so much much. I know you are in a better place in heaven watching over us.

Wow -- I am so sorry to hear this -- he was a terrific man -- I owe a lot to him -- I spent 40 years of y career as a head division 1 baseball coach, and Jack Hansen and Ralph Plaisance were the two reasons I became a successful coach -- they taught me so much back in our St. Pius CYO days -- Jack coached  with me at 7th grade CYO, where i also got to coach both Mike and Ricky...my connection with the Hansen family came full  cycle about ten years ago, when i was a math teacher at Island Trees High School and taught both of Jack and Rita's twin grandsons...what a thril...I am totally heartbroken..i truly love this man very much!

I am so very sorry for your loss.   Jack was a dear friend & next door neighbor for 53 years.  Such a loss is profound for you, your family & friends.  I am so grateful to have known & loved Jack.
