

Born on Allendale St., Jamaica, Queens, NY, daughter of John Earle “Bud” Kelton and Florence Emma (Parks) Kelton, Jean was raised in Richmond Hill, Queens, graduated John Adams High School at age 16, attended Susquehanna University and during WWII, worked for the Office of Censorship.
Jean married her high school sweetheart, Eugene Vincent Weber, son of Vincent Joseph Weber and Mary Elizabeth (Conway) Weber on 07 June, 1947. She was employed as a secretary by Standard Brands and later, Borden’s, both in Manhattan.
Jean and Gene move to Hicksville, NY in 1954 where they raised two children and were founding members and officers of the Mid-Land Civic Association. Jean was an active member of Trinity Lutheran Church, PTA, typed braille books and was a substitute Sunday School teacher.
Jean returned to the work force in 1972 when she filled in for a legal secretary who was out on maternity leave from the law office of Ms. Nancy K. Munson in Huntington, NY. The former secretary never returned and Jean remained with Ms. Munson for thirty-five years. Through her association with Ms. Munson, Jean became involved with and eventually became Presiding Officer of “The Brooklyn Home for Aging Men”, a philanthropic trust that funds grants to nursing scholarships, nursing homes and research entities.
Pre-deceased by her husband 02 November 2004, Jean is survived by a son Jay (Marci) Weber, a daughter Jayme Weber, two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
