Jeanette “Nette” was called home to God suddenly on Sunday, March 8, 2026. She is survived by her partner in life of 25 years, Giovanni Mercader. Jeanette was the cherished sister of Lillian, Jack (Helene) and Robert (Janet). Jeanette was graced with Nieces and Nephews, Jon, Nick, Nikki, Helene, Kerri Barella (Chris), Kayla and Kelsey Martin (Chris). As well as Great Nephews and Nieces, Christian, Abigail, Robert, Lillian and Brooklyn Rose. She was predeceased by her loving parents Mary and Jonathan E. Denker
After a long career with Verizon and a proud member of CWA Local 1105, Jeanette retired. Jeanette enjoyed going to the Ducks games, bowling, shopping and her dogs Savannah and Reign. Jeanette was an avid Gardner. At this time of year, she and Gio would be beginning their plans for their backyard which was filled with flowers and vegetables. In a matter of a few weeks the entire backyard was transformed into a beautiful field of flowers.
During her retirement she realized her true passion and it was painting. Jeanette took classes with Artist, Lorraine Rimmelin as her instructor using watercolors. She also met with a group of women at the Bethpage Public Library and painted with them as well. Jeanette, definitely loved these two classes and would talk about what wonderful knowledge she gained along with the great time they had together. Jeanette was truly an upcoming artist.
Jeanette loved to have a good time. Her favorite holiday will forever be Halloween. She loved to cook, sing (always off key and the wrong words) dance like nobody was watching (as many of us know) and above all else she was funny, quick witted and she made sure we knew how much she loved us.
Until we meet again, sister.
