

John Anthony Pinto Sr., a beloved and cherished resident of North Baldwin, New York, passed away on August 3, 2025, at the age of 85. Born on June 1, 1940, in Manhattan to Mary and Joseph Pinto, John lived a life marked by compassion, hard work, and wisdom.
John served his country with distinction in the US Army and later pursued a successful career as a carpenter, eventually owning a general contracting business. He was a devoted father to Suzanne (Steven), Holly (Mark), John (Connie), and Eric (Erin), and a loving grandfather to Bennett, Lucas, Julia, Ava, Owen, and Maggie. John was also a brother to Teddie and a brother-in-law to William.
A kind-hearted man with a passion for life, John loved Indy Car Racing, enjoyed cigars and brandy, and was an avid fan of Westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne. He was a loyal supporter of Yankees baseball and both Giants and Cowboys football, and he always drove a Ford.
John was deeply involved in his community through his participation in the Kiwanis Club and as a Knight of Columbus. He cherished spending time with his children and grandchildren, and he particularly loved Christmas Eve and Christmas traditions, especially the annual family tradition of cutting down the Christmas tree.
The family will receive friends at Vernon C. Wagner Funeral Homes, located at 125 W Old Country Road, Hicksville, NY 11801, for visitation on August 7, 2025, from 2:00 pm to 4:00 pm and from 7:00 pm to 9:00 pm. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on August 8, 2025, from 9:30 am to 10:30 am at St. Bernard's Roman Catholic Church, 3100 Hempstead Tpke, Levittown, NY 11756. A private cremation will follow.
John Anthony Pinto Sr. was a wonderful father and grandfather who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His legacy of kindness and dedication to family and community will be remembered fondly by those who had the privilege of knowing him.
